MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy consists of the application of microinjections of conventional medicines, homeopathic medicines, vitamins, amino acids or minerals. It was invented by a French doctor, Michel Pistor (1951), to treat chronic ailments, but very soon its use was expanded and today it is used effectively in the field of aesthetic medicine, both in facial and body treatments. This method is based on a maxim: "a little, a few times and in the right place".
This treatment consists of the application of pharmacological preparations by means of a series of intradermal surface injections. In this way, the medicine acts directly on the affected area and with lower doses than would be needed if applied by another route, such as oral or creams difficult to absorb.
The use of small doses applied locally allows only the area of the body to be treated to be in contact with the substance applied, which generates a controlled effect and fewer adverse reactions. It is often used an association of products that potentiate each other, optimizing the results.
Mesotherapy can be applied to all body areas: legs, buttocks, thighs, abdomen, chest, arms, face.
When is it recommended?

Mesotherapy has multiple indications within medicine. It is a therapy widely used for dermatological, phlebological, circulatory diseases, pathologies caused by sport, rheumatological diseases and painful syndromes. It is a treatment which can correct medical-aesthetic pathologies such as cellulite, flaccidity and localized adiposities, which do not disappear with diet and exercise or eliminate new stretch marks.
It is also used for acne, to treat scars and on the scalp, to reduce hair loss.

*How does it work in cellulite?

Cellulite or paniculopathy edemato-fibroesclerotic has four stages. Mesotherapy is used in the first three stages with a good chance of reversing it. When there is already compression pain and sometimes it is spontaneous, it is no longer reversed but mesotherapy is used as a symptomatic treatment. The drugs used are lipolytic, vasculotropic or eutrophic. The most commonly used are centella asiatica, blufomedilo, pentoxifylline, caffeine, carnitine, ampelopsin, dmae, etc.

*What are the benefits of facial mesotherapy?
Medications can have a multitude of functions (tensor, moisturizers, renovator) and sometimes even an action similar to botulinum toxin. Thus, facial mesotherapy becomes an authentic beauty cocktail, which is directly applied to the place where it is needed. Even the chin and décolleté area can be treated with mesotherapy.
One of the star substances in facial mesotherapy is hyaluronic acid, a basic component of the body and living tissues. It provides elasticity to the tissues and hydration, as it has the ability to attract liquid, ie water. As it ages, the skin cells lose the ability to generate this polysaccharide, and its lack generates the appearance of wrinkles.

*Is it painful ?

The injections are applied at a superficial level, not subcutaneous or intramuscular, but at an intradermal level, at a maximum depth of 3 or 4 mm, injected exactly in the area to be treated. The needles used are approximately 4 mm long, which are usually not painful due to their reduced size and the fact that very little medication is applied. However, in cases of sensitivity, a cream with anesthesia can be used first.
*How long does the treatment last and how often should I do it?
The frequency varies from 1 to 2 times per week and the duration of treatment is initially 3 months in duration. Then maintenance sessions can be done every 15 or 30 days for another 3 months. Both the duration of the treatment and the frequency will be evaluated in each particular patient according to the pathology.

Mesotherapy is a treatment that gives results very early, however it is necessary to be disciplined in the termination of it, because that way the physiopathology of the problem to be treated is eradicated and not only the surface.
